Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson by Mitch Albom

An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson

Tuesdays with Morrie (TWM) is the tale of two men- one old and dying, the other in the best of youth and heights of career, meeting again as they did two decades earlier as teacher and student. Their chanced reunion turns into one final ‘class’: a lesson on how to live and how to love.

TWM is a chronicle of their time together snatched from the jaws of death as Morrie shares his wisdom and teaches life’s great lessons to his student Mitch. It is more than a dying man’s last words. It is his heart cry for people who have life to live it meaningfully and enjoy every bit of it rather than just letting life pass you by. Mitch and Morrie spent the sixteen Tuesdays together exploring many of life’s fundamental issues — family, marriage, aging and culture to name a few. Morrie was giving his last lecture while Mitch was writing his thesis yet again.

There are two stories within TWM. One is the story of a man coping with a disease that will take his life. The other is the story of a professor of social psychology who breaks complex issues of life into simple truths in an endearing way.

Morrie says nothing that has never been told, yet his words can be like tonic to the tired soul if you let it sink in. Morrie’s words transformed Mitch’s life. May it could change yours too. Happy reading!
