Tired of your kids wanting to go to fast food restaurants all the time? Do you resort to ‘ready to fry’ items to keep them happy? Here is a recipe that is easy, homemade, healthy and good enough to satisfy their fast food cravings.
Ingredients
1/2 cup maida
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Salt and pepper
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into pieces
1 large egg 1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup breadcrumbs
Method
- Place the chicken pieces in a blender; add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Blend till it is a consistency that you can roll it in balls. Roll into small balls and set aside. Place the flour in a bowl and season with a little salt and pepper.
- Whisk the egg and 1 tablespoon water in a medium bowl.
- Roll the balls in the flour, dip in the egg mixture, then the breadcrumbs, gently pressing the balls to flatten, and set on a clean plate. Repeat with the remaining pieces of chicken.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces to the pan (work in batches if needed) and brown on each side. Transfer the chicken nuggets to a paper-towel-lined plate. Serve while hot.
