Evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years after her murder, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, to meet Him at the shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he goes to the shack and what he finds there changes Mack’s life forever.
This moving story of a father trying to make sense of the loss of his child, in the most gruesome possible way, will send you on a roller coaster of emotions. The book wrestles with the timeless question, “Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?” It brings to light various questions that I, and I’m sure most people, have but do not know whom to ask. When tragedy confronts eternity it truly makes a powerful story.
The answers Mack gets will astound you and maybe transform your life as it did mine. I strongly recommend reading this book; it is the most impactful book I have read in a while.
