To Live, to Love, to Learn to Leave a Legacy

When talking of realigning your life to your purpose, we cannot but talk of First things First. Classifying this book under the genre of time management does much disservice to this book. This is not a quick fix book to get it all sorted, it is reflective one that can change the course of our life. It is a book that inspires us to bridge the gap many of us feel between the way we spend our time and what is important to us.

The first chapter of the book is titled ‘How many people on their death bed wish they’d spent more time at office?’, making us think what really matters in life. They start with the quote ‘the enemy of the “best” is the “good” and challenge us to move beyond the comfort of the good to take hold of the best we can be.

The book proposes that discovering our vision and mission gives meaning and purpose to our life and helps us in the process of identifying the DNA of our life. For those of us struggling to discover our purpose this is a great starting point. This discovery forms the back bone for the rest of the processes in the book like creating balance and synergy among the various roles in your life, how to set principle- based goals that create quality-of- life results and how to act with integrity in the moment of choice.

This book is not about managing our life efficiently but changing the course of our life in line with our internal- eternal compass. I would recommend it for each of us wherever we are on our journey of self- discovery.
